This morning, 12 people from the Paducah area, 1 from Louisville, and 2 from Kansas City, all woke up with one common goal on their heart; to share the love of Christ with the people of El Salvador. The scripture on the Mission House chalkboard read: Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James1:27 NLT
Our team consists of 15 people ranging in ages from 12 to 56. We spent our first day traveling, preparing items for the week and then shared a meal together.
After dinner, we all packed meals for the homeless. This is their rainy season so we also passed out raincoats. We were on our second to last stop the rain began to come. Hard and fast. Sometimes I think it's God's way of letting us see things through His eyes.
We were all thankful to be able to go back and change into dry clothes, but God placed that reminder in our hearts that not everyone will be dry this evening. Thank you Lord for giving us eyes to see what you see and the grace to open our hearts to help others. We love and seek you more and more.
