Thursday... Sharing God's Love Overcomes Any Barriers... Language or Otherwise

Our team today began the morning with a quick tour of States Bakes, another part of the Sus Hijos organization. This bakery provides training and job opportunities for several young people who otherwise might not find employment. They bake and produce breads for 8 businesses and the restaurants operated by Sus Hijos.

Next up was a trip south of San Salvador to Santa Ana and the Ciudad de los NiƱos y Adolesciencias (CNA) orphanage for children. We were able to spend some one and one time with the children there playing games, and giving them shoes, treats, and clothes.

This afternoon we headed over to work with the adults with special needs from San Martin who currently relocated to CNA as well. We arrived to a full-fledged water/dance party! It was so invigorating and freeing to see the pure joy on the faces of our team and the residents there as we just danced, laughed, played games, and enjoyed each other's company!

It blows my mind how the love of God can overcome any language or other barriers that may exist among His children.

Before leaving, we were able to provide several donations to the center and provided each resident with stuffed animals and treat bags.

Tonight, we returned back to the Mission House for a dinner from the States diner before heading out to provide over 100 meals to homeless individuals in the area.

God's presence has been felt as strongly today, if not stronger,
than the day we got here. We are humbled and beyond grateful to have
been given this opportunity to serve His children.
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Proverbs 31:8-9 (NIV)
