July's Journey to El Salvador

After a long day of travel yesterday, the team arrived safely in El Salvador! This morning they were up bright and early for church. They enjoyed praise and worship with the congregation, and Vicki blessed everyone by signing along with some of the songs.
Next it was on to children's church!
The team had a great time doing drama's and bible stories with the kids!
T
After a quick lunch, it was off to CIPI for an afternoon at the orphanage...
Here is a note from Vickie Tilley...
"The team hit the road running on their first day in El Salvador.  Bags were prepped with the needed supplies for the day then it was off to church to enjoy a lively worship service. Most of the words spoken by the worship leader were not familiar, most of the songs we sang (or attempted to sing) were unfamiliar but what was VERY familiar was the presence of the Lord.

After a wonderful lunch we headed of to CIPI orphanage where a highly competitive softball game ensued for some while others enjoyed crafts, balloon animals, flowers and crowns and face painting. It was great to see the smiles on the children's faces and their free and open hugs.

The day was not yet done,  After dinner we prepared 150 sack meals and headed out to the streets to hand them out along with t-shirts to the homeless.  It was such an eye opening experience to ride through the streets in the back of a pickup truck stopping at the sight of people huddled against bridges and buildings to escape the rain and try to sleep. They happily came to the truck to receive a free meal. "Dios te Benditos!", God bless You, was the cry we made to them. Tomorrow, the adventure continues!"

Please continue to pray for the team this week and follow along daily, on their journey to serve His children!
